The 29th National Book Expo（NBE）, formerly known as the National Book Market, began in 1980 and was renamed as NBE in the 17th NBE in Chongqing in 2007.

The 29th NBE is co-sponsored by State Press and Publication Administration, Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, and Xi'an Municipal People's Government.
